My mission statement

Most companies have a mission statement, which gives everyone in the company direction... P&G's goes:

"We will provide branded products and services of superior quality and value that improve the lives of the world's consumers. As a result, consumers will reward us with leadership sales, profit, and value creation, allowing our people, our shareholders, and the communities in which we live and work to prosper."

In my opinion, it's a great mission statement, albeit a bit long and wordy. In the book Seven Habits of Successful people, it suggests that we all come up with a personal mission statement to set the direction of your life. Some people have come up with a line, others a paragraph, still others a poem. I thought about it for a while, at first I came up with something like "to reach my full potential yadda yadda" but then I came up with one that was short and sweet, but set a great direction for Me, Inc. So here it is, my own personal mission statement:

My mission is to have my cake and eat it too.

This cliche is usually used in the context of "you can't have your cake and eat it too," but what I'm saying is I can. Choose between making a lot of money or doing what you love? Well, I want to make a lot of money AND do what I love. Choose between a girl who's beautiful or smart? Well, I want one who's beautiful AND smart. Who says you hafta choose one or the other? There are many examples of win-win situations in the world. And my mission in life is to keep looking until I find them.

I like the sentiment, but the actual mission statement is lame sounding.
