Racing sausage attacked!

Tom referred in one of his comments to an incident a while back that involved a bat... I figure I'd shed some light on that.

First, my editorial comment: This was the most blown out of proportion thing in the history of mankind. OK, now watch the video (click this link).

Done? OK... I couldn't help but burst out laughing, even after watching it again now. First, can you believe this was considered "breaking news?" And I love all the headlines... Racing sausage attacked! And I can't believe the player who did this was led off in handcuffs and charged with battery (hee hee). Some more quotes:

"I just looked over and saw our wieners in a wad." - Ned Yost, Brewers manager.

"Someone had to win." - The guy dressed up as the bratwurst, when asked why he didn't go back and help

What really happened was a player was trying to kid around, but the costumes are so tall that they're top heavy. So she fell down. I think the proper response was a apology by Randall Simon, and for him to buy them dinner or something. I appreciate this kind of kidding around, it's unfortunate that people overreacted so much. Follow up video.

Got any good one-liners? Reply now!

Dale,
That video is hilarious! They are so serious in covering the "attack". Especially the slow-mo replay of the weiners taking a digger... You should look for this video on YouTube.com and embed it in your blog. Would be much cooler.

I was working in Milwaukee when the attack happened. It was all over the national news, I remember, and all of us in Milwaukee just kept laughing and shaking our heads. All of the jokes were great, though!
