Sigh... it was fun while it lasted
Thanks to Tom for breaking the bad news to me... I found out today that Brewers favorite CC Sabathia signed with the hated New York Yankees. It was awesome having him as part of the team... he showed a lot of passion for the Brewers to win, pitched on 3 days rest like 4 times in a row, and was a fan favorite. I can't blame him for taking $60 million MORE than the Brewers were offering. It's quite a thrill to see the Brewers first of all being able to get someone like CC, and second of all at least be able to make an offer to try to sign him.

the yankees are such bastards. yeah, I can't blame CC for taking $160M over $100M, but if I were him I would've definitely taken $140M to play for a team in a more favorable situation (a city that doesn't have insane expectations, pressure, and media). I don't think the 15% extra pay is worth the high likelihood of being miserable.
A month later and we've just found out that the Cubs traded Mark DeRosa. They also traded Carry Wood, and who knows who will be next...
