Well after a red eye flight where I got about 2 hours of sleep, I'm here in the Atlanta airport for a 5 hour layover. There are two earlier flights to Cinci, but I learned the hard way that if you check bags, you can't change your flight midstream. I was concerned that they might charge me a fee to change it, so I figured I'd wait until I got close.
It'll be interesting to see how long I can hold out today... and back to work tomorrow! Maybe I'll wake up really early tomorrow bc I'm going to go to sleep at like 8 PM tonight.

who ever told you that you can't change your flights midstream b/c you checked bags is full of crap. I've done it on several occasions on several airlines.
And each time I was impressed that my bags actually followed!
I believe Delta once shipped one of Kathy's bags off to the wrong city. When they notified her of it (while she was still flying!) she asked why didn't they just send it to meet her, as that city had a flight to her destination, as well. They said bags MUST follow the person's route. Which is also a line of crap. If it's soooo mandatory, how did it head off to NYC or someplace while she went to Africa?
Did you get some sleep during your layover? That sucks you only got 2 hours of sleep on a red eye! It was probably long enough you could have popped some sleep aids or something? At least have a few drinks before flying?
I hope you had a great vacation!!
Did you eat much pork in Hawaii? I just read on the USDA site about a recall there for some food service pork products contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes (those are fun words. Too bad it's a pathogen). Between Aug 4 and Aug 10. Any signs of Listeriosis? (it causes miscarriages. I don't think you have to worry there...)
