So I have had a renewed vigor at looking at cars, thinking maybe it's time for a pre-emptive strike while the Camry is still running well. I've decided to target the Acura TSX, which gives me the right combination of style, ride, do-hickeys (bluetooth phone), reliability, ability to get me home in a snowstorm, etc. The price point is a little higher than I'm aiming for, but we'll see how good my negotiating skills are.
I've done a lot of research on Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book. I came across this article on Edmunds where they sent a reporter undercover to become a car salesman. At the end I felt better educated about the tricks they try to play on customers, but also some respect for what they do. It's a long one:

I'm glad you posted it, I started reading it at work but had to stop.
gasp!!! breaking the generational camry tradition?!! oh well, if you have to break it, Honda's the only better choice.
Take a while to read at work. Where's the cliff notes version?
:)
So are you just looking, or are you buying (or has looking turned into buying...)?
I'm looking to buy... but I'm not in any hurry.
