One of the best things to happen to Asian guys is Yao Ming, the 7 foot 6 basketball player for the Houston Rockets. It proved that we can grow tall and be athletic, and average 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game. The best part is "Yao" is actually my Chinese first name (it's his last name, but close enough), so naturally I HAD to get a Yao jersey, even though my family would be the only ones who would get it.
Another thing that us Asian Americans like to laugh at is the fact that people can't tell Asians apart. I once visited my friend Winston (who's about 6 ft and wears glasses) in Houston, and we went to a Rockets game to cheer on our hero. I wondered out loud if he were to go in the game instead of Yao, if anyone would notice...
Rockets announcer: Boy, Yao is having an off night... can't shoot, can't rebound, it's almost like he isn't as tall anymore
Other rockets announcer: And has glasses

The article talks about how Asian guys have gotten the shaft in terms of society's perception of them.
I would replace "society" with "western society". The problem is that western culture dominates the entire world. Everyone wants to be westernized (have you been to Shanghai or Beijing recently?).
Here's a tongue-in-cheek short movie, it's hilarious. (about 5 minutes long).

If they didn't notice that I stepped in for Yao, he must really be having an off night.
You forgot to mention how wrong that article is. I don't think it's cool to be Asian unless you're a 7-foot-6 freak of nature. I'm not saying the words are mutually exclusive, but they don't go together like European accent +sexy.
